Lavender Glowtion

Glow + Lotion = Glowtion

Here is a wonderful and moisturizing formula for Lavender Glowtion. It is a very luminous lilac tinted facial cream that preps the skin for make up and gives it a subtle radiant glow! I am wearing it in the photo above.

You will start with 37 grams of distilled water placed in a clean glass beaker.

To the distilled water, add in 1.8 grams of Vegetable Glycerine. I like to get this from Mountain Rose Herbs. Shop HERE. Set this mixture aside and continue working on the next phase. You will need another clean glass beaker.

You need 3 grams of Emulsifying Wax. Again, Mountain Rose Herbs has a really great one. Shop for it HERE.

You need 1.2 grams of Stearic Acid. Mountain Rose Herbs carries this ingredient too. Shop HERE.

You need 1.8 grams of Cetyl Alcohol NF. I get mine from Lotion Crafter.

You need 3 grams of Kukui Nut Oil from Mountain Rose Herbs. Shop HERE.

You need 3 grams of refined Shea Butter.

You need 1.8 grams of lauryl laurate.

Add the e-wax, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, kukui nut oil, shea butter and lauryl laurate into another glass beaker.

Place both phases into a simmering water bath and heat to a temp of 160 degrees each.

When the oil/wax mixture is about 140 degrees, add in 0.08 grams of manganese violet and stir to blend evenly.

Also add in 0.5 grams of Hilite Violet mineral pigment from TKB Trading. These two ingredients help to diffuse the light on the skin and the light purple tint helps remedy any sallowness you may have from uneven skin tone.

Once both mixtures have come up to 160 degrees, carefully remove from the heat and blend together.

It takes about 15 minutes to cool down and thicken up. Once the mixture reaches 105 degrees you will see how thick and rich the cream has become.

Time to add in the preservatives. I use leucidal liquid and AMTicide. Both of these are safe and rated a 1 on the Skin Deep database.

You need 1.8 grams of Leucidal Liquid and 1.8 grams of AMTicide Coconut. You blend these in once your mixture is around 105 degrees.

I also added in 12 drops of lavender essential oil and 0.6 grams of Vitamin E oil.

Transfer the glowtion to a sanitized two-ounce container. Avoid putting your fingers into the jar because it will contaminate your product. Always use a clean cotton swab or small spoon to get the desired amount out. Store in a cool and dry place. Avoid getting any moisture into the product. You must use a preservative, otherwise you can store in the refrigerator and use it up quickly.
