French Sea Salt Exfoliating Body Balm

I am in love with this French Sea Salt Exfoliating Body Balm I created.  It gently exfoliates to remove dead skin cells with French Grey Sea Salt and deeply moisturizes your skin with sweet almond oil, pure olive oil and glycerine.  I added in an essential oil blend of lavender, rose geranium and basil.  I wish I could let you smell how beautiful this is through the computer!!! The lavender and rose geranium essential oils impart a sweet-fresh-floral character which is balanced by the spicy-warm notes from the basil essential oil.   You have to make this!! If you have dry flaky skin, this will take care of it after one or two uses. You will be left with smooth and glowing skin that smells amazing!!!

Lets get started gathering the necessary ingredients.......

French Sea Salt Exfoliating Body Balm
42 grams Olive Oil
30 grams Sweet Almond Oil
30 grams Vegetable Glycerine
15 grams Beeswax
90 grams French Sea Salt, divided use
30 drops Lavender Essential Oil
20 drops Rose Geranium Essential Oil
10 drops Basil Essential Oil

Add the olive oil, sweet almond oil, glycerine and beeswax into a glass measuring cup. Place it in a simmering water bath and allow the beeswax to fully melt into the oils. Remove from the heat.

Allow the mixture to cool to 100 degrees.

Add in the essential oils and gently stir to combine.

Add half of the French Sea Salt into the container you plan to store the product in and pour the oil/wax mixture over the salt.  Gently stir for several minutes to fully incorporate the ingredients.

Once the mixture starts to firm up it is time to add in the remainder of the French Sea Salt.

Continue to gently stir until all the ingredients are combined.  Transfer to the refrigerator for one hour.

I added some twine around the lid and body of my canning jar to make it look a "bit fancy".

I then applied a cute little label I printed to the jar.  I made this exfoliating body balm for myself, but I think I might make another one for a friend since this is so darn' tootin' adorable and will make a wonderful gift!!! The labels I used are #16915 from Momenta (www.momenta.com).

To Use: Massage a generous amount into dry skin for about 5 minutes, focusing on extra dry areas.  Carefully rinse off in a warm shower.  CAUTION: This contains oil which can leave your shower or bathtub very slippery, you have to be very careful not to slip!!! You can use this once or twice per week.

I hope you enjoy making this and thanks for reading my blog!!! Cheers & Green Blessings!!
