Overnight Rejuvenating Cocoa & Shea Butter Hand Treatment

Get ready for a bedtime story that doesn't involve counting sheep or monsters under the bed. Instead, imagine slathering a dreamy, creamy, and downright luxurious hand treatment onto your mitts, slipping on a pair of thin cotton gloves (very Michael Jackson, I know), and drifting off to dreamland.

When you wake up, your hands will be so soft and lovely, you'll think you've been holding hands with clouds all night. It's like a fairy godmother for your hands!

Our superstar, Cocoa Butter, is a bit of a celebrity in the skin world. It's known for kicking dry skin to the curb and improving skin elasticity. It's like a personal trainer for your hands.

Then we've got Shea Butter, the fairy godmother's sidekick. It's fantastic for revitalizing dull and dry skin and promoting skin renewal. It's like a spa vacation for your hands.

So, get ready for some sweet hand-holding dreams and wake up to a high-five from your skin. Enjoy!

Overnight Rejuvenating Cocoa & Shea Butter Hand Treatment
makes about 4 ounces

10 grams sweet almond oil
8 grams vegetable glycerin
5 grams Jojoba oil
20 grams cocoa butter
14 grams  Shea butter
5 grams E-Wax NF
2 grams Stearic acid
2 grams beeswax
2 grams lecithin
30 grams Aloe Vera juice
15 grams Rose hydrosol
1 gram Vitamin E
Preservation of choice or store in the fridge.

Bring a 3-inch water bath to a simmer over medium-low heat in a large pot.  Add the sweet almond oil, vegetable glycerin, Jojoba oil, cocoa butter, Shea butter, E-Wax NF, Stearic acid, beeswax, and  lecithin into a large glass Pyrex measuring cup and place in the water bath.  In another glass measuring cup add in the Aloe Vera and hydrosol then place it in the water bath.  Once the oil/wax phase has completely melted and both the water phase and oil/wax phase are within 5 degrees of each other, remove from the heat.

Start mixing the oil/wax phase with a hand held mixer on low. Slowly stream in the water phase while blending.  Continue blending on low speed until mixture begins to thicken.  After it has cooled to 100 degrees, add in the Vitamin E and preservative if using one.   Continue to mix for about 1 minute.  Transfer to a clean container and use within 30 days.  **The mixture may seem rather thin until it has cooled completely and will then be much thicker.
