Calming Chamomile Lotion

Ladies and gents, let me introduce you to the Rolls Royce of nighttime lotions, the kind of stuff that dreams are literally made of. This isn't just a lotion, it's a trip to the land of Nod, escorted by triple chamomile magic. Yes, you heard right, not one, not two, but THREE types of chamomile: hydrosol, Roman essential oil, and German essential oil. It's like the United Nations of calming herbs!

Slather this luxurious lotion over your chest, neck, and décolleté, and give your temples a good old rub while you're at it. Breathe deeply, think happy thoughts, and let this magic potion soothe your frazzled nerves and calm your weary soul. Who needs a lullaby when you've got this?

Now, a word of advice: this beauty doesn’t contain preservatives (because who needs them?), so store it in the fridge and use it within three weeks. It's like a fancy dessert, but for your skin. Goodnight, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite!

Need some calming inspiration? Imagine standing in the middle of this beautiful natural landscape....what do you hear....what do you smell....what do you see....what do you feel

Calming Chamomile Lotion
makes about 4 ounces

5 teaspoons sweet almond oil
1/2 teaspoon vegetable glycerin
1/2 teaspoon stearic acid
2 heaping teaspoons emulsifying wax NF
1/2 teaspoon vitamin E oil

Measure the sweet almond oil, vegetable glycerin, stearic acid and emulsifying wax into  a glass measuring cup and sit this in a saucepan containing a few inches of simmering water. Stirring occasionally, until everything has melted and the temperature reaches about 160 degrees F.

Measure the chamomile hydrosol into another glass measuring cup, sit this in a saucepan of simmering water, and heat to a temperature of about 160 degrees F.

Carefully remove both measuring cups from the simmering water. Pour the oil and wax mixture carefully into a heatproof mixing bowl and mix with a hand-held mixer set on medium speed.
