Buttermilk & Clay Gentle Exfoliating Grains

Fresh-Picked Beauty's Buttermilk & Clay Gentle Exfoliating Grains
This is the PERFECT exfoliating grains recipe for every single skin type.  It uses finely powdered ingredients to gently buff away dull and dry skin to help reveal a brighter and evenly toned skin.  You also get to choose what you want to mix the dry grains with.  Perhaps you will choose honey, Greek yogurt, hydrosol or herb infused water.  This recipe makes enough for six facials.

You can find organic powdered buttermilk in the baking section of your market.
You need 1 teaspoon of powdered buttermilk........

If you don't have both, you can just choose one and use double the amount.
You need 1 teaspoon each of Red Moroccan Clay and Rhassoul Clay. I really love these clays since they are mineral rich and have huge amounts of silica, magnesium, iron, calcium and potassium and are very pampering to the skin.

Corn flour and rice flour are available in the baking section of your market. Do not use corn meal as it has a much coarse and rougher texture.
You will need 1 teaspoon each of Corn Flour and Rice Flour.  Both of these kitchen staples are very finely powdered yet capable of gently exfoliating the skin.

This particular sea salt is almost like a flour and is the best sea salt to use on the face.
You also need 1 teaspoon of Velvet de Guerande salt.  This particular salt is very fine, almost like a salt flour.  It has a very high mineral content and is wonderful at exfoliating the skin in a gentle manner. (Velvet is the trademark name owned by Le Tresor company)

Place all your ingredients into a small bowl.

Stir well to combine.

Store your exfoliating grains in a small container with a tight fitting lid.

To make an exfoliating facial, add a heaping teaspoon of the exfoliating gains into a small bowl.  Add in 1 teaspoon of honey or 1 teaspoon of yogurt and mix well.  Massage onto  cleansed and slightly moistened face for a few minutes to gently exfoliate (avoid eyes).  Leave on for a few minutes longer and then rinse off with warm water.

You can also make an exfoliating facial by adding in a heaping teaspoon of the exfoliating grains to a small bowl and adding in a 1/4 teaspoon of either hydrosol or herbal infused water.  Enjoy!!!
