Chamomile and French Green Clay Mask

Immerse yourself in the calming embrace of a homemade clay mask, carefully designed to soothe and purify your skin. Begin by brewing an infusion of chamomile, potent and fragrant, before marrying it with the earthy goodness of clay. For a final touch of luxury, infuse the mix with a few drops of the exotic Moroccan Chamomile essential oil (Ormenis mixta). Each application promises a refreshing journey of purification for your skin.

I always buy my powdered clay from Mountain Rose Herbs. They normally have five different types of clay available for purchase. I chose the French Green Clay for this recipe. You can find out more and purchase HERE.

Mountain Rose Herbs also offers dried chamomile flowers. You can purchase these HERE.

Recipe:
Steep 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers with 2 tablespoons of boiling water for twenty minutes. Drain the liquid from the herb and into a small bowl.  Compost the spent flowers.

Add in one heaping tablespoon of French Green Clay and three drops of Moroccan Chamomile essential oil and mix well until smooth and free of lumps. If you mixture is too thin, add in a little bit of clay until you get a thick and spreadable consistency.

Using a mask brush, apply a thick layer of the clay over clean skin. Allow to dry for 20 minutes. Rinse away with warm water and moisturize your face with a cream or lotion.

Use up to three times per week.
