Cloth Face Mask Refresher Spray Blends

Here are a few recipes for DIY alcohol and essential oil-based cloth mask refresher sprays. These sprays will freshen up your mask with the aromas of pure essential oils. Changing your mask daily is necessary; these sprays do not sanitize your mask.

I have tried these sprays on disposable masks, and I don't recommend them because it just drips off the mask. It is best to lightly spray the outside of your cloth mask and wait about 3 minutes for the alcohol to evaporate so that just the subtle scent of the essential oils remains. I used 175-proof Vodka because it evaporates and dries the fastest. If you need to use a lower-proof vodka, it may take a few minutes longer to disappear off the mask. I also used a very low essential oil ratio to alcohol. This is not a perfume but a subtle aromatic pick-me-up for your mask.

Never use essential oils undiluted in eyes or mucus membranes. Only take internally if working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If you experience any adverse reactions, discontinue use.

Before using topically, perform a small patch test on your inner forearm or back by applying a small quantity of diluted essential oil and a bandage. Wash the area if you experience any irritation. If no irritation occurs after 48 hours, it may be safe to use on your skin.
