Blemish-Busting Back Mask

This is a mask to help soothe blemish-prone skin on your back and body.  It is not recommended for the face as it contains freshly-juiced turmeric which may stain the skin a yellow color (temporarily of course). This mask is packed with many blemish-blasting ingredients and helps promote clear healthy skin.  You simply cleanse your back with a mild cleanser and apply a thick layer of this mask to your back.  Cover your skin with moistened muslin cloth and allow the mask to work its magic for one hour. After an hour, simply wipe as much of the mask off your back with tissue and then rinse your back with warm water.  Use this mask two times per week to help keep your skin clear and blemish-free.  Discontinue if irritation occurs.  **Store the mask in the refrigerator and use within 10 days.

Blemish-Busting Back Mask

1 cup Mountain Rose Herbs Fullers Earth Clay (*plus more if you need to thicken the mixture)
1 tablespoon activated charcoal powder
1 tablespoon Manuka Honey
2 tablespoons freshly-juiced turmeric root
6 cloves garlic, freshly-juiced along with the turmeric root
2 tablespoons Thyme Tincture
40 drops Mountain Rose Herbs Tea Tree Essential Oil

Mix all the ingredients into a small bowl.  Stir to mix well.

I normally juice a whole bunch of fresh turmeric and freeze the juice in ice cube trays for blending it into smoothies.  I encourage you to look into the many benefits that turmeric offers.

I use the activated charcoal that comes in capsules and will open them and sprinkle the powder into a tablespoon until I fill it up.  You may be able to find it as a loose powder too.

Making your own Thyme Extract (Tincture) is super easy and inexpensive.  Visit my tutorial on how to make your own tinctures HERE.
