Happy-Go-Lucky Soothing Body Oil

Yesterday I spent three hours in my mad scientist lab, whipping up a new concoction. My goal? To create a massage and body oil that could transform anyone from a tightly wound, stress-ball into a zen master.

You know that feeling, right? It's been a long day, your shoulders are as tense as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs, your heart is racing like a hamster on a wheel, your mind is sprinting faster than Usain Bolt, and you're so exhausted you couldn't sleep even if a flock of sheep jumped over you.

Well, I get that feeling too, and let me tell you, it's as fun as stepping on a Lego. So, I decided to play fairy godmother. I handpicked essential oils that are known for their magical stress-busting, irritability-squashing, and tension-melting properties. These oils could probably help a caffeinated squirrel relax.

So stay tuned, folks, because soon you'll be able to transform your stress-filled days into a blissful zen-like state. And remember, stressed spelled backwards is desserts, so don't forget to treat yourself too!

Mandarin Essential Oil (Citrus reticulata): Good for stress, nervous tension. Citrus Aroma/Top Note.

Vetiver Essential Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides): Good for irritability. Sedative. Earthy Aroma/Base Note.

Roman Chamomile Essential Oil (Anthemis nobilis): High ester content which is good for stress and tension. Herbaceous Aroma/Middle Note.

Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia): Good for anxiety, relaxing, anti-stress.  Relieves nervous tension. Floral Aroma/Middle Note.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil (Cananga odorata): Relaxing, anti-stress, anti-tension. Antidepressant, nervine and sedative. Balsamic Aroma/Base Note.

I chose sweet almond oil for the carrier base. This is one of the most useful, practical, and commonly used oils. It is great for all skin types as an acting emollient and is best known for its ability to soften, soothe, and re-condition the skin. It is truly marvelous as a carrier oil and is equally superb for addition to body care products. Natural expeller pressed oil from raw almond kernels and exceptionally rich in fatty acids.

I made a 60 ml (2oz) bottle with a 3% dilution of essential oils.  I am really proud of this blend I created.  I know you will enjoy it as much as I do.  Cheers!!
